Sky Valley-Lk Cavanugh

Solo Sunday.  Did a little scouting around trying to find that tasty section we stumbled on in Feburary.

Wanda Fooka

SR112/113/+ Local Roads   -  SR112, SR113, Joyce/Piedmont, Little River/Black Diamond Rds.  R113 is off my list of MUST roads, SR112 was worthy.  A great day under blue skies, ground both pegs just trying to maintain the flow.  SR112 has four distinct sections, the last being the longest and best, extended passing sections and accomodating (i.e. law breaking) locals.    335 miles.

OR Coast 2009

  • Day 1: OR US47 Clatskanie/Nehalem  -  One of those roads that you can ride a thousand times and not be bored.
  • Day 3: OR53 Nehalem-US26  -  Light rain 'dampened' my enthusiasm for OR53 but it is definitely an awesome, MUST RIDE road. The 'green tunnel' on Cape Lookout and E. Devils Lake Rd were awesome!
  • Day 4:  Willamina/Bible Creek Rd, Nestucca River Rd  -  Slab Creek is an adventure road only, no sport riding is possible. Willamina=>Nestucca River Road was 175+ miles of twisty, peg and knee scraping, occasionally one-lane technical madness.  Never thought I'd weary of turns but today came close.  Serious fun!!!
  • Day 5:  229 Kernville/Siletz-Toledo  -   Lather, Rinse, Repeat
  • Day 6:  Alsea Hwy Loop, OR34, Mary's Peak, Lobster Valley  -  OR34 has the best 4 mi. section in Oregon so far + 150 miles of sweeping or twisty fun.  One of the best rides of my life!!!
  • Day 7: 229 Kernville/Siletz-Toledo  -   Again!
  • Day 8: OR202=>Clatskanie Hwy - O&B, 150mi, pretty short section on 202 (logging debris on the road ate up a mile or more), but OR47 was and always will be worth the commute.
